Lewis Hamilton: Sky Sports pundits highlight US Grand Prix qualifying worry
LEWIS HAMILTON has a big worry heading into US Grand Prix qualifying tonight, according to Sky Sports pundit Ted Kravitz.
Hamilton can win his fifth world title this weekend if he finishes eight points above rival Sebastian Vettel.
The Brit was the quickest in the first two rain-stricken practice sessions on Friday.
But Ferrari turned their fortunes around this evening as Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen secured a one-two for the Prancing Horse in FP3.
And Kravitz believes Ferrari will have the quickest car this weekend, giving them a glimmer of hope of postponing Hamilton’s celebrations.
“It has worked for them because they were one-two in final practice,” Kravitz told Sky Sports F1.
"Speed-wise, it's Mercedes on the back foot going into qualifying.
"And there's a lot of work going on with Lewis Hamilton's car, as they change the plank on the floor.
"It looked like the Ferrari had an advantage on straight-line speed - yes, that again."
However, Vettel has been slapped with a three-place grid penalty for speeding during a red flag in practice.
The German can now no longer start the race any higher than fourth place.
And fellow pundit Martin Brundle believes that makes it near-impossible for Vettel to stop Hamilton winning the World Championship in Austin.
"You could say it would need something extraordinary now to prevent him from becoming a five-time world champion," said Brundle.
"He's comfortable in the team, he's comfortable with what he's got to do and he's got that wonderful cross-over between experience, skill, bravery, patience.
“And he doesn't make mistakes, which is has been a pivotal factor in this Championship."
