Singapore Grand Prix 2018 race results: Full classification – Hamilton wins, Vettel third
LEWIS HAMILTON tightened his grip on the F1 world championship with a dominant victory in the Singapore Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton put in a commanding display to easily win the Singapore Grand Prix and extend his lead at the top of the F1 Drivers’ Championship.
The Mercedes ace started on pole after a stellar lap in qualifying and never looked troubled by his opponents around the Marina Bay street circuit.
Sebastian Vettel lost further ground to his rival with a sloppy race which saw the Ferrari driver beaten into second by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Hamilton is now 40 points clear at the top of the standings with six rounds of the championship remaining.
Valtteri Bottas finished a distant fourth ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo, while Fernando Alonso had something to cheer about in seventh.
There was a double points finish for Renault as Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg carved their way through the field, while Charles Leclerc brought his Sauber home ninth.
Racing Point Force India had a weekend to forget with Esteban Ocon out on lap one after contact with his team-mate Sergio Perez.
Perez then went on to clash with Sergey Sirotkin and was handed a drive-through penalty before finishing 16th – but how did the rest of the grid perform?
