Alastair Cook: Ashes glory era ‘tarnished’ by KP book
ENGLAND captain Alastair Cook says the successful Andrew Strauss-Andy Flower era has been “tarnished” by Kevin Pietersen’s autobiography.
Cook, however, did acknowledge there had been times when players overstepped the mark – but he strongly refutes bullying allegations.
Pietersen’s autobiography was released this week, singling out Flower and wicketkeeper Matt Prior for criticism during a period when England won three Ashes series.
Cook said: “International cricket is a tough place. At some stages those frustrations boiled over, but that was only people desperate to succeed.”
