Anthony Joshua reveals personal insight into parenthood ahead of Kubrat Pulev clash
ANTHONY JOSHUA has opened up on parenthood and admits he’d be happy for his son to follow his footsteps into the ring.
Anthony Joshua has spoken about parenthood ahead of his fight with Kubrat Pulev
Joshua has a two-year-old son but is very protective of his family and rarely discusses his personal life.
But, ahead of his fight with Kubrat Pulev, he has opened up on his son and teaching him morals and discipline.
Joshua, 27, wants him to be grounded and sensible.
“My first born will grow up to be like me, hard-working and understand sacrifice, because he's the heir to the throne,” he told Sky Sports.
"I'll have to nurture him to be tough, wise and make critical decisions.
"I had to start from the middle using my fists, whilst some people have to start using their feet playing football.
"I'm happy for him to fight, I just want him using his head first."
Joshua is fighting for the first time since beating Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley to win the WBA and IBO heavyweight titles.
He takes on Bulgarian Pulev in Cardiff and is putting his WBA, IBF and IBO belts on the line.

And the Londoner is already thinking about who’s next.
He admits it’s a matter of when not if he faces the likes of David Haye and Deontae Wilder in the ring.
"It's not a matter of if, it's just a matter of when when it comes to the likes of David Haye and Deontay Wilder because there has been no era of boxing where heavyweights, middleweights, welterweights haven't come together,” he said.
"We have to fight each other and that's just the way it's going to go."
