IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is the man standing in the way of Anthony Joshua becoming a three-time champion of the world. Wembley Stadium will house the Battle of the Brits with both AJ and Dubois having a long history with each other.

The pair sparred together back in 2016 and Joshua was reportedly nearly knocked out by teenager Dubois just a year before his first world title victory against Wladimir Klitschko inside Wembley Stadium. Dubois fuelled the rumours by refusing to talk about the sparring incident but Joshua has run clean-up by praising his rival for landing a good shot at the time.

The pair's build-up to the world title fight hasn't been plain-sailing either. Joshua and Dubois "had to be pulled apart" hours before their press conference earlier this year. AJ had also threatened to "smash a chair" across Dubois' face after what he perceived to be disrespect from his younger counterpart.

“Yeah, we had a bit of aggro,” London 2012 Olympic gold hero Joshua revealed. “It’s good. There are two aspects to it, the competitive side, the Queensberry Rules of boxing. But there is also the instinct that one has, as a fighter.

"And that is just how it is. Before I boxed, I was a good fighter, that’s an instinct you have when someone calls you out. He said ‘Let’s go now’. And I said: ‘Let’s go then’. No security, I just stepped away, I thought I would be the bigger man.”

When is AJ vs Daniel Dubois?

Former two-time world heavyweight champion AJ will meet IBF title holder Dubois on Saturday night inside Wembley Stadium. Saturday night's fight will be Joshua's fourth inside Wembley Stadium, having defeated Matt Legg, Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin in years gone by.

What's been said?

AJ: "I always felt I could hurt people but the thing is, in a heavyweight fight, anyone can. That’s what makes the heavyweight division so exciting.

"It’s one of those divisions where you don’t want to blink because anything can happen at any time so it wasn’t so much, ‘Can I do it?’ it was like, ‘How good am I?’"

Dubois: "I was down and now I'm coming back up. There's a deeper meaning to it than just me and AJ in the ring. Everything's on the line. Who's got the stronger will, who's really conquered their demons and who's really ready to move forward and I believe that's me and I'm ready to go out there and show it."
