Adams decided to turn professional after winning her second flyweight gold medal at the Rio Olympics.
She had considered going to Tokyo to bid to become the first Brit to win three golds in boxing but had her head turned by the lucrative options available in the professional game.
She signed with promoter Frank Warren after interest from Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn and American-based promoters.
Adams has been working with Hunter at his gym just outside San Francisco for a number of weeks alongside her partner Marlen Esparza, who has also turned professional.
She will remain there until 10 days before her debut but has not decided who will be in her corner on the night.
