Scott Quigg reveals why he's a bad loser before facing Carl Frampton in Manchester
SCOTT QUIGG never wants to feel the pain of defeat again.
Quigg's unbeaten record will be on the line in Manchester
The Bury fighter puts his undefeated record and WBA super-bantamweight title on the line on Saturday night against IBF champion Carl Frampton.
It is 10 years since the fighter – who has won 31 and drawn two of his 33 professional fights – lost an amateur bout in the Peacock Gym in London.
It led to a painful journey back up north and although the trip home to Bury from Manchester Arena won’t be so long, he has no intention of tasting defeat in a clash in which ‘somebody’s 0 has got to go’ as the promoters say.
There has been a six-year wait for this fight since both became prominent on the domestic super-bantamweight scene in 2010.
Promoter rows, TV issues and purse split rows have all blocked it happening in the past and with the bitterness between both camps it is like Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao on a smaller scale.
“I'm going to be a lot more explosive than they were in that fight,” added Quigg.
