Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight update provided as one rule confirmed
Jake Paul's manager has rubbished the reported rules of his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson as he claims over 85,000 people are interested in tickets.
Jake Paul's manager Nakisa Bidarian has slammed the reported rules of the 27-year-old's fight with Mike Tyson this summer as fake news, with the only confirmation surrounding July's fight declaring that neither fighter will wear headgear. The Daily Mail reported that the alleged rules would see Paul and Tyson use 16-ounce gloves - not the traditional 10-ounce gloves used in professional fights.
It was also suggested the fight will feature two-minute rounds instead of three-minute rounds and there will be no official judges ringside to score the fight. The claim was that the only way to win July's fight in Texas was via knockout.
However, Paul's manager Bidarian has slammed the reported rules of the soon-to-be-decided pro or exhibition fight as "fake news." He said on social media: "Breaking news! There is no news. Stop spreading fake news. There's no truth to all the stuff around Jake Paul-Mike Tyson. Here's what is true.
"One, Mike Tyson is in unbelievable shape and training like he hasn't in many, many years and is looking scary for Jake Paul. Two, there are no tickets for sale. If you bought tickets, those are tickets that don't exist. Three, over 85,000 people have signed up to get access to tickets when they go on sale. This is going to be a historic event."
Despite wide public interest to see Tyson step back inside the squared circle, some within professional boxing have negative feelings towards the fight. speaking exclusively to the Daily Express Sport, unbeaten English cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley, who trained YouTubers to take on the Paul brothers in YouTube boxing's twilight years of 2019 and 2020, doesn't want to see an aged Tyson put his health on the line.
"He deserves all the credit. I always say that," Riley said. "Something I've said to him personally, you know what I mean? Well done with what you're doing. And you should keep doing it because it is a massive transition from where he began to where he is now. And I think, yeah, like the Mike Tyson fight was a bit wayward. I didn't expect that from him. You know, he was going to pick a more, an opponent that is in line with what he'd been saying about this whole traditional thing, wanting to be a world champion and everything.

“So when I saw the Mike Tyson one, it was a bit mad. Like I said, I'm not a fan of that fight. I'm not in agreement with that fight because we don't want to see OAPs putting their hearts under pressure and raising their blood pressure and everything to go and fight 27-year-olds.
"It's not something that I'm advocating. But I mean, the way Jake's looking at it, it's Mike Tyson, it's Mike Tyson. So if I beat Mike Tyson, I can take that to my grave. But me personally, I wouldn't need to guess that I'd beat a 57-year-old Mike Tyson. But you know, that's me.”
