Tyson Fury has offered to fight Anthony Joshua should an agreement with Oleksandr Usyk fail to be reached. In a bizarre video uploaded to Twitter, a stoic Fury told fans that 'he had to do this just in case'.
Taking to social media, he said: "Hey, Tyson Fury here, aka The Gypsy King, the WBC champion of the world, as you can tell. I think you've all heard that I'm going to be fighting soon within the next few months and I think that before I announce an opponent I need to do this just in case.
"Anthony Joshua, I know you've just lost a fight to Usyk and you're beltless at the moment but I'd like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.
"You're coming off a twelve-round fight, so you're match-fit, you're ready and I'm giving you a few months' notice. If you're interested I'll send you the date over and we can rumble. A battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world. Let me know if you're interested if not I will select another opponent. Thank you very much and goodnight."

The video comes after Fury affirmed that he would be announcing a new opponent this week if Usyk is unable to face him this year. The pair are reportedly negotiating terms for the first undisputed heavyweight unification clash of the four-belt era and were initially looking at a December 17 date.
However, Usyk is unable to fight this year due to injuries sustained in his rematch with Joshua last month. Fury's US promoter, Bob Arum, stated that they were looking at staging the contest on February 11 or February 18 but Fury is not willing to wait any longer.

"All of a sudden Oleksandr Usyk has stated he does not want to fight anymore - he wants to fight next year, not this year,” Fury told the BBC. “I am not going to wait around for anybody, and I will be announcing a fight next week.”
It appears that one of those options will be AJ who was supposed to face The Gypsy King in 2021 before a second fight was ordered with Deontay Wilder. Whether or not this offer is serious or not is yet to be seen.
Fury has made various outlandish claims since defeating Dillian Whyte in April and has gone back and forth with retirement over the last five months. There is an expectation that the Mancunian will wait the extra two months to face the Ukrainian but with Fury nothing is ever what it seems.
