Boxing news: Anthony Joshua receives stark warning, Jacobs’ Canelo claim, Uysk prediction
BOXING NEWS - Express Sport brings you the latest ongoings in the boxing world.
Anthony Joshua receives Andy Ruiz warning
Eddie Hearn has implored Anthony Joshua not to underestimate Andy Ruiz and warned him the American won’t be an easy opponent.
“I wanted someone who is not just taking a payday, someone who believes he can win," Hearn told Fight Hype.
“All you’ve got to do is speak to people in boxing, or people who know boxing, everything I’ve seen on social media is this is a tougher fight than Jarrell Miller.
“In fact, it’s a similar fight to Jarrell Miller other than Andy has got much quicker hands and punches harder, his reach is a bit smaller but he gets on the inside faster.
“I think the style is not great for Joshua.
“Joshua is a tall guy, when he fights smaller guys, you see him against Takam and Povetkin, it’s a tough style for him.
“But he is improving and he likes the challenge. And I want someone who comes to fight, I don’t want someone coming in a little bit scared, one round or two rounds and it’s over.”

Daniel Jacobs makes Canelo Alvarez statement
IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs has insisted Canelo Alvarez isn’t as hard a puncher as Gennady Golovkin.
"People said 'GGG' hit too hard and I took everything he had and there’s no way that Canelo hits that hard,” he told Sky Sports.
He later said: “He’s [Canelo] a smaller middleweight than me and I may have to adjust to his size and speed in the early going.
“But even though he holds most of the belts and it’s largely his titles we’re fighting for, I already see myself as the best middleweight out there and the whole world will agree with me after I’ve defeated Canelo.”
Dillian Whyte questions Oleksandr Usyk’s future at heavyweight
Dillian Whyte has revealed he doesn’t foresee former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk being successful at heavyweight.
“I said I’d fight him,” Whyte told Boxing News. “Ages ago I said I’d fight him.
"But I’d fight anybody, to be honest.
“I don’t think he will do well as a heavyweight. He’ll outbox a lot of guys. But it’s the heavyweight division. It’s a whole different kettle of fish.
“I’m not going there to have no boxing match with him. I’m not going to stand outside and try and outbox him.
“No, I’m going to try to track him down and hit him everywhere. Any way possible I can hit him, I’ll hit him.”
