Why does Deontay Wilder wear a mask?
Wilder, commonly known as The Bronze Bomber, claims that his alias is more an alter ego.
The American transforms into The Bronze Bomber each fight, which helps him conduct the savagery he promises his opponents.
“There's no hiding behind this mask,” Wilder said after Friday’s weigh-in.
“It has an energy about it that I feed off of. Putting the mask on is like a blocker, I zone in. Most definitely it's a strange feeling. The mask is everything for me.”
Masquerading as another character is so helpful for Wilder, that he wears his mask during his ring walks, too.
“That's why I wear it to the ring every fight. I feed off it's energy until that bell rings. The rest is history,” he continued.
“When my mind transforms it is a scary feeling because it is a source of power that takes over.
“If I say I want to kill a man, people have a problem with it, but it's not the first time that has been said and it won't be the last and it definitely isn't the worst thing that has been said.”

Why is Anthony Joshua not at Wilder vs Fury?
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed to Sky Sports that his prized asset would not be in attendance at Los Angeles.
“No, we won’t [be at the fight],” Hearn said.
“We’ve got our show in Italy on Friday and AJ goes out on Tuesday to film in America with Under Armour.
“He’ll also be at the Canelo fight with DAZN and he’ll be doing a lot of media stuff around there.
“I haven’t really spoke to him about the fight that much. He’s just focused on Deontay Wilder.
“Will he watch? Probably, yeah.”
Hearn’s claim that Joshua will watch has been contradicted by the man himself, however, who said last weekend that it was on too late for him to watch.
"The fight is on too early in the morning for me, so I’ll be sleeping," Joshua said.
"I enjoy watching the highlights. I’ll watch it in the morning on social media.
"When I wake up, I like to see who got knocked out. It’s a generation thing. We like highlights, so I don’t watch the whole thing."
