Anthony Joshua: Fury aims to 'make money' from Wilder fight
Boxing News - Anthony Joshua takes aim at Deontay Wilder
Anthony Joshua has claimed Deontay Wilder only wants to fight Tyson Fury so he can increase his bargaining power for future fight negotiations.
“I know the strategy is for him to fight Fury after a three-year layoff,” ‘AJ’ said of Wilder in an interview with Sky News. “He's got a good chance of beating him.
“It will boost his profile so when he comes back to the negotiating table he will have a better leg to stand on.”
Oscar and Canelo owe Gennady yet another apology
Boxing News - Team Golovkin demand apology from Oscar De La Hoya
Gennady Golovkin’s manager Tom Loeffler has demanded Oscar De La Hoya apologise to his client for claiming he wanted no national anthems to be played ahead of his first fight with Canelo Alvarez.
“I have no idea what Oscar is talking about but it is not true," Loeffler said.
"The truth is Team Golovkin had requested that the national anthems of Kazakhstan, Mexico and the United States be sung before the pay-per-view telecast began so that we could proceed with the fights seamlessly and uninterrupted.
“HBO supported this position and has always preferred that the anthems take place before the HBO Pay-Per-View telecast begins.
"To suggest that Gennady is unpatriotic and has no respect for the anthems of his Kazakhstan, Mexico or the US, where Gennady resides in southern California, is patently false. Oscar and Canelo owe Gennady yet another apology.
“This is just another example of why Gennady never believes anything from Canelo's side."
Boxing News - Alexander Povetkin talks Anthony Joshua fight
Russia’s Alexander Povetkin is expecting his upcoming bout with Joshua to be either a tactical affair or a slugfest.
"There is never any thoughts about losing," Povetkin told Sky Sports. "I think just about coming to the ring and winning. I do everything for that.
"We have two scenarios - whether Anthony Joshua will decide to have a rumble, or he will keep the distance.
"We have both scenarios, we don't know how it will go. We're ready for any style of fight.
"I just want to win, this is most important."
