EastEnders spoilers: Mick Carter to take down Stuart Highway following brutal twist?
EASTENDERS viewers saw Mick Carter struggling with his morals this evening as Stuart Highway’s secret came out following a brutal attack.
EastEnders: Jean tells Kat about Ollie’s abuse
This week saw Mick (played by Danny Dyer) assisting Stuart (Ricky Champ) with his controversial paedophile hunting.
The venture saw the pair targeting a man after he attempted to speak to young girls online.
Because of the video that Stuart posted online of the supposed paedophile, the man was beaten to with an inch of his life.
But tonight’s episode of EastEnders revealed the truth behind his nefarious doings.
It was announced at the police station that the man in question was merely trying to find his daughter who had been taken by her mother.
Mick ended up covering for Stuart who had been taken to the police station for questioning over the attack.
But after realising the truth, he was not happy with Stuart’s actions.
During the inquest Mick found out that the injured man suffered multiple broken bones, and was currently in hospital.
Mick told Stuart he can’t carry on being a vigilante, as he may get the facts wrong once again.
But Stuart wouldn’t hear it, putting the two immovable objects into a brutal fist fight.
Stuart wailed after Mick as he walked away: “It’s because of blokes like you that kids get molested.”
Now completely done with Stuart and his antics, could Mick be ready to take down Stuart once and for all?
With his volatile methods continuing, Mick may find a way to sabotage Stuart during one of his paedophile raids.
Alternatively Mick could change his mind about the statement he gave to the police.
With Mick’s alibi pulled from under Stuart, could he see prison time for the assault?
The paedophile hunter storyline was a recent topic of discussion as it came under fire from the National Police Chief’s Council.
The group said in a statement: “We understand the desire to protect children, but any member of the public who has information about child sexual abuse, online or otherwise, should get in contact with the police so we can investigate and bring people to justice.
"Online child abuse activists are taking risks they don't understand and can undermine police investigations.”
An EastEnders spokesperson defended the storyline, saying it isn’t “glamourising” the practice.
They explained: “At no point is EastEnders encouraging or glamourising predator hunting.
”In fact, viewers will see the extremely negative consequences of Stuart's actions this week."
EastEnders continue Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
