EASTENDERS’ Max Branning suffered another blow after a further secret about Abi Branning’s death was revealed tonight.
EastEnders: Traumatised Max discovers Abi was never buried
Last night’s instalment of BBC soap EastEnders saw Max (played by Jake Wood) find out that Abi’s (Lorna Fitzgerald) funeral had already taken place.
The blow hit him hard, however the pariah had more sorrow waiting for him in today’s episode after another twist was thrown in to the storyline.
The truth was exposed as Max confronted Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) about the betrayal.
Max pressed his daughter for the details of Abi’s funeral, and he sensed something was not quite right as Lauren provided little detail

You ain’t buried her, have you, Lauren
He questioned: “How many people were there?”
To which Lauren bluntly replied: “I don’t know, loads.”
It became clear Lauren could not lie convincingly about the funeral as Max continued to ask questions, suggesting she had tricked Max.
Max grew more and more agitated before he asked Lauren why she was lying: “You ain’t buried her, have you, Lauren?”

Lauren looked away from her father as he shouted at her, where she appeared to shake her head to his question, confirming that she had been lying.
Tonight’s instalment of the soap saw Max at a complete loss after he thought the ceremony had gone ahead without him.
He was seen interrogating Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) as to where and how Abi was laid to rest before engaging in a blazing row with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).
The landlord intervened as Max attempt to drive after he had been drinking, before launching an attack on the troubled soul.

Mick told him: “You’re a parasite Max, you feed off other people.”
He continued: “Comes naturally to you, putting yourself first, now little Abi’s dead, and still it’s all about you.”
However, with Abi’s funeral still yet to take place, the question remains as to whether Max will be invited to mourn.
