I’m A Celebrity 2017: Viewers FUMING over Kezia Dugdale’s arrival
Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly made a shock announcement, revealing that some latecomers would be introduced to the ITV show.
Scottish Labour MSP Kezia has already confessed that her arrival in the Australian outback would be a controversial one, but she saw the opportunity to live with even more rats and snakes.
She said of her announcement on the show: “I think people’s obverting emotion will be, first and foremost, of shock. I think there will be a few people angry.
“They will be angry because they will say I should be doing my day job and I am going to be away. I understand that anger.
Kezia is already causing a stir among ITV viewers and Jeremy Corbyn
Kezia and Iain entered the jungle this evening
“I’ve seen them be angry over similar things the people have done but I can’t help but think that it is an amazing opportunity to talk to millions of people about the Labour Party, its values and how it is different. I am not gong to talk about politics all the time but it is who I am, what I do and I can’t help it.”
The 36-year-old also admitted that she thinks Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, will “be pretty relaxed” about her new role.
She added: “I think he will have a good laugh at my expense. I think he will be more than happy to see me do it!”
Viewers were not happy over Kezia's appearance and flocked to Twitter to discuss the policitian's arrival.
One wrote: "If you’re a serving MP [sic] then get out the jungle and run your constituency #ImACelebrity @kezdugdale."
Another added: "And we wonder why modern politics is a joke #ImACelebrity #ImACelebrity2017."
A third fumed: "Kezia “get back to your day job” Dugdale on #ImACelebrity? Hilarious."
A fourth commented: "What's up with all these politicians this year I want to escape from the mess they're doing to our country not watch them every night... not feeling it this year I'm afraid #ImACelebrity."
Kezia wasn’t the only fresh face to arrive, as she was accompanied by radio presenter Iain Lee.
The 44-year-old is hoping to lose “a couple of stone” during his time in camp - a feat that won’t be difficult should the camp remain on their basic rations of rice and beans.
He joked: “I am fine with not eating much. Bring it on.”
Iain has also admitted that he will be facing a lot of his fears on the show, after confessing to being “terrified of everything”
“I am a very lazy cowardly man who has spent the last 44 years being safe and comfortable who has not got involved in any risk whatsoever.
“Now I am going in the jungle, I am feeling nervous,” he explained.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs nightly on ITV at 9pm.
