The 55-year-old ITV presenter was not best pleased with the script writer as he struggled to read the autocue.
He looked annoyed as he stumbled over his words as he tried to tell viewers about what was coming up in the show.
Phillip was heard saying: “And from dogs to cats, Dermot O Leary is taking um… er… inspir... uh!”
It was clear that he was flummoxed as he tried to continue to read the script, leading him to exclaim: “Have you seen what that said there? You’ve got to tell me when you spring stuff like that on me!”
Co-host Holly Willoughby tried to help out as she rolled the r in inspiration and sounded like she was purring like a cat.
He went on to say: “It actually says inspurration. I just thought, ‘What the hell does that say?’ He’s getting inspiration from his feline friends.”

What the hell does that say?
The broadcaster seemed relieved after he managed to get through the link before sharing a photo with the audience of his father-in-law John, who is in hospital at the moment.
He explained: “I’m going to show a picture to you, if that’s okay? We’ve had a hell of a weekend of it, my father-in-law John has had a new valve fitted.”
The snap flashed up on the screen of Phillip with John, as he added: “That was taken yesterday at St Barts, he’s making a great recovery. Good morning to him. Get well soon captain. Also to all the staff at St Barts, thank you.”

Along with the blunder, it seemed that Holly, 36, was rather taken by one baby on the show during an incredible interview about a woman who fell pregnant after starting the menopause.
She was seen holding the nine-month-old baby Molly before saying: "I'm going to keep her."
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.25am.
