The pair were in fits of giggles after a clip of MSNBC anchorman Lawrence O’Donnell completely losing it in between advert breaks was leaked on social media.
O’Donnell has since apologised to his 2.19 million followers on Twitter, posting: “A better anchorman and a better person would've had a better reaction to technical difficulties. I'm sorry.”
However, Phillip Schofield claimed O’Donnell had given presenters a “bad name”.
“Have you ever wondered what happens when the cameras stop rolling or we link to a VT?” he asked viewers, before playing the mortifying video.
