Viewers of the ITV soap watched on in horror as Chesney Brown (played by Sam Aston) was stabbed by a drug dealer in shocking scenes.
Chesney's rival, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) came to his aid, trying desperately to stop the bleeding as they waited for an ambulance to rush the injured fan favourite to hospital.
Although Coronation Street fans were left on tenterhooks wondering whether Chesney would survive the vicious attack, many seemed more concerned with an eye-watering hygiene error on the part of Daniel.

After Chesney was hurried away by paramedics, Daniel was able to give his statement to the police and wash the blood off his hands in the sink in the Bistro kitchen, even though the correct sink was clearly visible behind him.
Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to realise that he was washing his hands in the food preparation sink, and rushed to social media to slam the disgusting error.
"Daniel using the wrong sink to wash his bloodied hands in a kitchen," one fan tweeted. "With the correct one in the background."

Meanwhile, other fans concentrated on the dramatic stabbing, with many outraged that Chesney could die.
