Choosing to make a vegetarian dish, the 57-year-old chef wowed Fearne with his roast heritage carrots that came with garlic scales and fresh almonds.
However, viewers were less than impressed with the offering that featured two different types of the vegetable.
One Saturday Kitchen fan joked on Twitter: "Mmmm carrots with mashed up carrots. U spoil me with your Michelin stars #SaturdayKitchen." (sic)
The carrot dish left viewers feeling reeling
Viewers who were less than impressed took to Twitter to comment
Another tweeted: "That was a lovely plate of carrots! Think I'd laugh (possibly cry if someone served me that! #SaturdayKitchen."
A third added: "#SaturdayKitchen usually has me salivating. But not today… With Ferne's 'crunchy and delicious carrots'." (sic)
A fourth commented: "#SaturdayKitchen vote Hell anyone that says a side dish of just carrots mashed up like baby food is amazing deserves HELL."
This came after last week's swear-filled episode which left host Matt Tebbutt forced to apologise for his bad language.
However, as he issued an apology, viewers were left perplexed as they appeared to miss his slip of the tongue.
Saturday Kitchen continues next weekend at 9am on BBC One.
