Coronation Street: Rob Donovan makes his return
Rob Donovan made a surprise return to the Cobbles on tonight’s episode, having previously been imprisoned for the murder of Tina McIntyre (played by Michelle Keegan).
It was revealed that his ex-fiancée Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has been seeing Rob for a while, despite the fact she is in a new relationship with Luke Britton (Dean Fagan).
Coronation Street bosses had been hoping to keep Rob’s reappearance under wraps, however, photographers snapped the actor on location with co-star Kate last month.
Marc, 40, who has also had roles in The Bill, EastEnders and Hollyoaks, said he was frustrated that the images had been leaked.

The audience have been cheated of that moment
“It’s just the fact that we don’t want people to know too much about the story to be honest,” he explained.
“It’s a shame that those pictures were taken because we wanted it to be a surprise on screen, the audience have been cheated of that moment but we can’t help that.”
The pictures were unexpected, given that the killer was supposed to be serving a 25-year jail sentence for his murderous crime.

Despite the leak, Marc said that it was a “joy” to be back in Weatherfield - for some time at least.
“It feels awesome to be back,” he continued. “It’s always a joy to come back and have a play.”
He added, however, that Rob would not be around for very long, as his character will face a “do or die situation”.
Coronation Street continues this Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
