Michael appeared on the daytime show to discuss his new album, Songs of Cinema, though viewers couldn't help but criticise the "awkward" interview.
One viewer posted on Twitter: "Michael Bolton, the most AWKWARD human alive…or simply just BORING?"
Another added: "Michael Bolton on GMB is sending me to sleep. He couldn't talk any slower if he tried and think he's afraid to smile #Bored #GMB."
A third tweeted: "Is it just me or does Michael Bolton not seem interested to be interviewed? He looked so disinterested on The Nightly Show as well."

Another continued: "Totally bored by Michael Bolton on @GMB where's his personality?"
The 64-year-old crooner also addressed the loss of his famous locks which he chopped off and sold during a charity auction.
He told Kate and Charlotte: "It was a scary change. They brought in someone to cut my hair who cuts Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise's hair before movies, so I thought how bad can it be?
"It was long for 30 years but as soon as I woke up, I knew it was the right decision," Michael added.
The singer hit headlines in 2011 for completely reinventing himself during a Saturday Night Live joke music video with The Lonely Island.
Fans were quick to criticise the crooner's appearance on GMB
Michael donned a Captain Jack Sparrow outfit and sang a ballad in the style of the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
He explained: "I loved the idea of [The Lonely Island] and all the different people they worked with so I wanted to work with them but I knew I couldn't shoot it because the language was so bad and half of my audience would not appreciate it.
"They said 'no problem' and finally came up with the one they did. It aired on SNL and the next day it went viral and it got over 167 million views.
"It created this whole fan base that really didn't even know my music. 14-40-year-old guys are fans now because of Jack Sparrow," Michael continued.
