Casualty producer promises 'live experience' for series finale PLUS a shock return
CASUALTY producer Erika Hossington has revealed the show is planning to give viewers a “live experience” at the end of the current series.
Casualty wins Best Drama at the National Television Awards
The long-running BBC medical drama beat off stiff competition from Cold Feet, Game Of Thrones, Happy Valley and The Night Manager to win a National Television Award last month.
And now the show’s bosses are planning something extra special for the finale, which will air later this year.
Erika told Digital Spy: ”We are going to do something which I don't think any show has done before.
“What we want to do is give viewers a live experience but we can't do our show live because it wouldn't look like our show and it wouldn't sound like our show.”

Erika went on to explain that it would be impossible to film Casualty completely live because of the amount of post-production work involved.
She added that an announcement on the “live version” of the show would be made very soon.
Pam St Clement, aka EastEnders legend Pat Butcher, will also be making a return next month after appearing in one episode last year.
Casualty: Pam St Clement will be returning in March as grumpy Sally Hodge
Erika teased that Pam, who plays grumpy patient Sally Hodge, will be involved in an explosive incident.
She added: “I can tell you that we have Pam St Clement's character returning and she literally causes an explosion. That is a good stunt and will be airing in March.”
Casualty continues this Saturday at 7.55pm on BBC One.
