On the third night of the competition, commentator Dave Lamb revealed that Rory Nicoll would no longer be a part of the show because of an incident that took place off-air.
Many of those tuning in took to Twitter to demand an explanation for his removal, with one viewer even submitting a freedom of information request.
Now Jennifer Judge, who appeared on the teatime series alongside Rory, has spoken out about his shock departure revealing he was given an ultimatum by producers following an argument the night that he hosted.
Producers are believed to have asked the Scotsman to apologise for his behaviour or be kicked off the show.

Speaking about the incident, Jennifer told the Dunfermline Press: “I loved meeting the others, and me and my husband are going along to one of their 40th birthdays.”
“There was a bit of drama, though, a first on the show,” she continued. “On the first night, everybody came to mine and on the second night the host had a bit of an argument with the other gentleman.
“The producer said if the host didn’t apologise, he would get kicked off the show and he didn’t!”
Jennifer said her night went well but on the second night Rory had an argument with Darren

While the details of the argument are unknown, both Darren and Rory became embroiled in a spat about which member of Take That was the most talented.
Rory’s guests were unimpressed when he insisted that it was Gary Barlow and would not back down, leading them to give him a very low score.
Come Dine With Me continues weeknights on Channel 4 at 5pm.
