Ben Shephard leaves Good Morning Britain viewers swooning with designer stubble
GOOD MORNING BRITAIN’S Ben Shephard unveiled his new look today, and viewers of the show went into a frenzy over it.
'I thought I was waking up to a Hollywood star': viewers can't get enough of Ben Shepherd's beard
The normally clean-shaven presenter had seemingly decided to try out a more rugged look by ditching the razors for a few days and letting his stubble come through, giving him a bit of a beard.
As part of the programme, co-anchor Kate Garraway asked viewers to vote on weather the 41-year-old should keep it or not.
Fans of the show - and of Ben - didn’t hesitate in placing their votes in the programme’s online poll.
It was a close-call, but fans leaned more in favour of him keeping the beard, with 53 per cent enjoying Ben’s new rough-and-ready look.
Ben Shephard has decided to grow a beard
You've hit puberty!
“Love the beard Ben Shephard looks dead sexy!” gushed on viewer, with another posting: “Ben Shephard is a treat on my TV this morning @GMB.”
A third wrote “@GMB Ben Shephard is looking hotter than ever before!” with a fourth remarking “@GMB I turned on the tv and thought oooh who's that...... Ben shephard with a beard #verycute!”
Others - mostly men - decided to poke fun at the TV star, posting tweets along the lines of “Aw, Ben Shephard is growing a beard, doesn't he look grown up?”
One man in particular did write, however: "I'm dangerously heterosexual but I do have to say Ben Shephard's beard is rather fetching."
Kate seemed to enjoy the new look
Ben Shepherd's stubble was a hit with fans
On the flip side, 47 per cent still preferred his old squeaky-clean image.
Despite the close result, comments popped up remarking that Ben looked like a Hollywood actor and “a man, no longer a boy”.
Kate Garraway made a similar jab at her colleague, saying: "You've hit puberty!"
Ben may have purely decided to remain unshaven for his Coast 2 Coast challenge, which he has competed in over the past week, in which he ran 63 miles and cycled 146.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
