Michael Gove branded 'loathsome f**kwit' by Holby City star in blistering online rant
NEWS of Michael Gove's last-minute candidacy for the Conservative party leadership has caused a social media firestorm yesterday, with a leading Holby City actor among his most prolific detractors.
Michael Gove has been lambasted by David Ames on Twitter
The politician - who previously insisted on multiple occasions that he would not stand for Prime Minister - has been called a "loathsome f**kwit" by one of the medical drama's most popular stars, David Ames.
The performer, who plays Dr Dominic Copeland, also said the former Education Secretary and leading Brexit campaigner has "a face that looks like excess foreskin".
"Predicted Gove would stand for leadership yesterday. Seemingly they've shafted the country for personal gain. Loathsome f**kwit," he tweeted.
"Hardly surprising though. The man does have a face that looks like excess foreskin. He's got to f**k something I suppose."

He added: "At present, the Conservative leadership contest feels like we've been dealt the most god-awful hand in Top Trumps imaginable."
The 32-year-old, whose credits also include Doctor Who, was far from the only person to react to Gove's announcement.
Pointless co-host Richard Osman also joined in, joking: "Keep thinking of that Clash song 'Should I May Or Should I Gove'."
After retweeting a heap of posts on the matter, Lily Allen quipped: "Someone needs to recommission Spitting Image. ASAP."
