Casualty's Duffy returns for the 1000th episode
Lisa ‘Duffy’ Duffin, played by Cathy Shipton, made a temporary return ahead of her permanent re-instatement later this year.
Cathy played the role from the show's inception in 1986 until 1993, and then again from 1998 to 2003.
She reappeared for the 30th anniversary special late last year, and will be back once again in August - but this time for good.
"@BBCCasualty brilliant 1000th episode!! So happy to see Duffy back again!!!" one fan wrote on Twitter as the episode aired.
Duffy will be back properly later this year
What will happen when she's back permanently?
"OMG Casualty was amazing... Duffy is back with Charlie again.. They've been reunited.. and that music at the end," said another.
A third posted: "What a brilliant episode of #Casualty! So great to see Duffy back #Casualty1000."

She's also popped up in Doctors, The Bill, One Foot In The Grave - and even played a midwife in 1997's Spice World.
Casualty continues next Saturday on BBC One.
