Marcella fans SLAM crime drama's finale as people ask: 'What the hell is going on?'
VIEWERS tuning in to watch the final instalment of London noir crime series Marcella have hit out at the show for leaving lots of loose ends open.
Fans were left with questions about the Marcella finale
The eight-part ITV drama starring Anna Friel drew to a close tonight, despite the killer being unmasked it seemed that the audience were left with plenty of questions that begged answers.
The Hans Rosenfeldt drama has been slowly gaining momentum over the past two months in the build-up to the finale and the last episode proved to be a really talking point on social media.
Many people took to Twitter to discuss the show and Marcella soon became to top trending topic on the micro-blogging site, with droves of people questioning what they had just witnessed.
“Good series but disappointing ending.Too many holes. Eg bakery owner's shoulder wound, where are trophies, why copy killing style #Marcella,” one person tweeted.
The London noir drew to a close tonight
Someone else seemed to be less than impressed with the finale, posting: “Another drama, another anticlimax #Marcella.”
“I think the writers of #Marcella must have been having Marcella-like blackouts. That's the only explanation for all the loose ends,” another person said.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON #Marcella,” one viewer wrote, sounding outraged and frustrated.
However, there was also much praise for the crime drama from many people.

Marcella - played by Anna - focuses on a police officer, who returns to work after a spate of copy cat killings from an old case lures her back to job.
Actor Nicholas Pinnock, who plays Marcella’s husband Jason Backland, hinted that a second series could be happening.
Appearing on This Morning today, he was asked whether the loose ends could be left open in order for a second series, leading the star to cryptically: “That’s highly possible.”
