The actress claimed the film star was "very easy on the eye" before going on to suggest that he should be the next James Bond.
Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield couldn't resist asking the 42-year-old, who was promoting new comedy Flowers alongside Julian Barratt, about the hugely popular BBC drama.
Olivia played Angela Burr in the series currently being shown in the US, which starred Tom, 35, as spy Jonathan Pine, as well as Hugh Laurie.
When asked about the heartthrob, the TV star commented: "He is very easy on the eye. He'd be a great Bond!"

Olivia was desperate to star in The Night Manager despite being heavily pregnant at the time of filming.
"I went to meet the director Susanne Bier and really wanted to do it, but I just found out I was pregnant. It was number three so it wasn't going to be hidden."
The star added: "Good on them, they all went for it and I did get to go some of the nice places too."

Dark sitcom Flowers sees Olivia and Julian play a dysfunctional husband and wife, who are heading for divorce.
The mother-of-three stars as music teacher Deborah while her co-star plays Maurice, an author of twisted children's books.
