BBC Breakfast interrupted as Dan Walker and Louise Minchin’s guest URINATES on the sofa
BBC BREAKFAST viewers were left laughing today when a very special guest started sniffing around Louise Minchin’s leg and then urinated on the red sofa.
BBC Breakfast disrupted by naughty Benji the corgi
Thankfully, Benji - the guest in question - was a corgi, rather than a human being.
He had been roped in for a segment on the morning show as part of the celebrations for the Queen’s 90th birthday party, which include a documentary investigating her love for the canines.
Dan Walker, Louise’s relatively new co-host, posted on Twitter about the dog's bladder emptying once all parties were off-camera.
"Hairy leg and sofa seepage #DogOnSet @BBCBreakfast" he joked, later adding: "Urine the news Benji..."
BBC Breakfast's guest wet the sofa today
Benji was a hit
The dog apparently wet itself off-air
Maybe now is the time for a new sofa!
Louise added: “Maybe now is the time for a new sofa!”
The dog had earlier got a little too close for comfort, sniffing around Louise’s legs while she read out a live link.
“What are you looking at?” she asked, while Dan diverted the dog’s attention.
It’s the second time in a week that liquid spillages have interrupted proceedings on the programme, after sports reporter Mike Bushell appeared to have wet himself during an instalment last week.
Benji was brought in as part of the Queen's celebrations
Fortunately, he had merely spilt water all over his leg, drenching his trousers in the process.
Sally Nugent, who was covering for Louise, also broke the news that he had ripped his trousers earlier in the morning.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
