The 56-year-old broadcaster, who was on the Loose Women panel for 10 years, branded the new addition to the team as a "desperate" move by programme makers.
"I don’t know what she’s doing there. But she’s got a lot of Twitter followers, and they’re desperate for viewers. I can’t believe those women [panellists] are sitting with her," she said in a recent interview.
"Where’s their self-respect? That’s why the show is so different, because they’re going for people with a lot of fans," she told Woman magazine.
Carol was part of Loose Women from 2003 to 2013 before bowing out.

Katie, 37, has become a fully-fledged Loose Woman this year and is on the panel once a week.
Her hiring was announced last year and the model promised to be the "most outspoken of them all".
Since she has been on the programme, Katie has been making waves and getting people talking.
She came under fire for allowing her eight-year-old daughter Princess Tiaamii to wear make-up and even brought her and son Junior onto the show.

Katie has taken aim at Twitter trolls, calling on the individuals sending her abusive messages about her disabled son Harvey to come forward and explain their actions.
Loose Women also introduced Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison to the panel, leading to praise from viewers for her addition to the team.
Last year's winner of The Great British Bake Off Nadiya Hussain has sat on the panel several times as well this year.
Loose Women is on weekdays on ITV at 12.35pm.
