Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin pranks viewers with April Fools' report
GOOD MORNING BRITAIN weather presenter Laura Tobin fooled viewers this morning with an April Fools' Day prank live on today's show.
Laura Tobin's April Fools Joke
Although many fans were sceptical given today's date, others believed the 34-year-old when she claimed that "scientists" were planning on ditching winter altogether and splitting the year into just three seasons.
"Interesting new weather proposal by scientists to adopt a 3 season year. Join me in 2 minutes @gmb to find out more," she announced on Twitter, after a full false report was published on the GMB website.
On air, she continued: "It's the changes in the weather patterns around the world that triggered scientists to make these new proposals: winter would be the season that's not included.
"We just don't get the cold snowy winters that we used to so it makes much more sense."

She then confirmed that the whole thing was a prank; continuing her mischievous streak just weeks after fooling viewers and colleagues into thinking she had ripped an extremely rare comic book poster.
One viewer wrote today: "@Lauratobin1 @benshephard @kategarraway @GMB first time I've been 'had' by an April Fool joke. I feel so dumb! You're all very naughty!"
Another said: "@GMB @Lauratobin1 just got caught right out by this. My mum evening saying 'this wouldn't be a bad idea'. Well played!"
"Frowning & muttering over my morning coffee ... I've just been April fooled ... @Lauratobin1 @GMB ...you got me," quipped a third Twitter user.
Alas, it was an April Fools' gag
Many others were on the ball, though, with one unhappy person grumbling: "Just wasted a lot of air time with that one."
"Great idea.... What is today's date?" quipped someone else.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6:30am.
