War and Peace: Viewers rush to social media to express shock at ‘HARROWING’ episode
VIEWERS were quick to take to Twitter to express their shock at last night's "harrowing" episode of War and Peace - which saw many of the main characters embroiled in a bloody battle.

As Anatole Kuragin (Callum Turner) paid a heavy price for his villainous ways in one of the drama's most grisly scenes, Prince Andrei (James Norton) decided he was ready to die in battle.
And Pierre Bezukhov (Paul Dano) even decided he wanted to be a part of the action.
The episode focussed on the battle of Austerlitz, leaving viewers impressed with the cinematography and shocked by the grotesque nature of war broadcast onto their television screens.
One viewer tweeted: "I was not expecting so much blood on a Sunday night. Very sad."

Anatole's gruesome payback also captivated viewers as they took to the social media to express their horror.
One fan insisted they were left traumatised: "Well that leg amputation has mentally scarred me #WarAndPeace."

Despite all the blood and guts, viewers showered praise on Jessie Buckley for her portrayal of Marya Bolkonskaya.
