Matt Smith makes a dashing Prince Philip as he films new drama The Crown with John Lithgow
HE FAMOUSLY played the eleventh Time Lord in Doctor Who, however Matt Smith is channeling a much more regal air these days.

The actor has been transformed into Prince Philip for new Netflix drama, The Crown, which he was spotted filming alongside John Lithgow and Greg Wise at Southwark Cathedral in London this week.
Wearing his normally wild tresses in a neat slicked back 'do, the 32-year-old cut a dapper figure in a smart, military-style coat.
Co-star John, 69, who is playing Sir Winston Churchill in the upcoming show, was sporting a very similar, doubled-breasted get-up for the scenes.
Matt was seen discussing the shoot with the cast and crew, after his costume was polished off with a black tie, trousers and a plain white shirt.

The Crown is inspired by the Peter Morgan play The Audience, which saw Helen Mirren play the Queen.
The 10-part series - expected to be screened next year - reportedly tells the inside story of two of the most famous addresses in the world: Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.
It will delve into "the intrigues, love lives and machinations behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th century," it has previously been revealed.

Wolf Hall actress Claire Foy is also appearing in the biographical programme, which is expected to include a dramatisation of Prince Philip's wedding.
The 31-year-old, who previously starred as Anne Boleyn, gets the chance to play another queen - Queen Elizabeth II - opposite Matt.
The Crown has been dubbed "the largest television undertaking in the history of broadcasting", with an estimated budget of around £100 million.
