Nick's desperate to keep Carla in town after spending the night with the Underworld boss so ropes in the Mancunian and his bulging wallet to invest in the failing underwear business.
And after Sarah Harding and Paddy McGuiness were both panned for their appearances on The Street this summer, Shayne's performance was universally hailed a success on Twitter as fans rushed in their thousands to praise the newcomer.
From "superb" to "the boy will be a wonder to ratings," Corrie viewers have gone Beatlemania for the chart-topper on social media.

Shayne Ward debut as Aidan on Coronation Street
X Factor winner Shayne, who has signed a year's contract with the soap, called the role "a dream come true".
"They’ve seen me being nice and singing my songs and now they’re going to see me roaring in someone’s face."

Speaking the Manchester Evening News about his new venture, the 30-year-old pop star turned actor said: "I didn’t realise how large this role was, storyline-wise. There is a lot going on without a doubt.
"I am going to work hard, especially with the role I have been given and the storylines, which are much bigger than I expected."
Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
