Adam Barton - Gavin Blyth
He is the son of James and Moira Barton and his family arrived in the village in 2009.
Adam's biggest story lines saw him set fire to the Dingle Automotors Garage and trapping Cain inside in revenge, blaming him for the death of his father and for seducing his mother. He had a change of heart and saved Cain the in end. Phew!
Ali Spencer - Kelli Hollis
The factory works arrived in the village in 2011 after she sister Rachel Breckle told her about a cottage that was up for rent.
She is fiercely loyal to her sister and even defended her honour in the middle of The Woolpack when Rachel was pregnant but refused to reveal the father of the baby.
Andy Sugden - Kevin Fletcher
He's been around since 1996 after he was fostered by Jack and Sarah Sugden.
Andy has seen quite a lot of drama during his time on Emmerdale, including becoming the head of the family after the death of his adoptive father Jack.
Ashley Thomas - John Middleton
The kindly Ashley first appeared on the soap in 1996 and started out as the village vicar.
During his time on the soap he had an eventful marriage to Laurel, who proved to be a bit of a handful. One of his most shocking moment came when he was accidentally run over by Victoria Sugden and critically injured.

Belle Dingle - Eden Taylor-Draper
She was born on Christmas Day 1998 to Zak and Lisa Dingle.
The rebellious student has got herself into trouble and involved with older boys but despite being a bit of a troublemaker, she is highly intelligent.
Bob Hope - Tony Audenshaw
He turned up in the soap in 2000 and was married to Viv Hope but later became involved with Brenda Walker.
He had a one-night-stand with Brenda's daughter and was left devastated after she was killed by Cameron Muuray.

Brenda Walker - Lesley Dunlop
She arrived in 2008 with her husband Bernard and the pair adopted a daughter they named Gennie.
Brenda's big plot lines include getting diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013 and struggling to deal with the death of Gennie
Cain Dingle - Jeff Hordley
The devious mechanic has been causing trouble since 2000.
He's now calmed down after he tied the knot with Moira, who he previously had an affair with while she was still married to another man.
Charity Macey - Emma Atkins
The character first showed up in the village in 1999 as a prostitute before turning to more legitimate ways to make money
She is Cain's cousin and also ex-girlfriend and even had an affair with him while married to Chris Tate. Charity also had dalliance with her husband's sister Zoe Tate.

Chas Dingle - Lucy Parteger
The landlady of The Woolpack is not afraid to say what she thinks after she made her mark in the soap on 2002.
She is known for her bad taste in men and had an affair with Cameron Murray, which was exposed in the 40th anniversary episode of the long-running series.
Debbie Dingle - Charley Webb
She turned up in the village in 2002 at the tender age of 14 after being revealed as the long-lost daughter of Cain and Charity Dingle.
Debbie doesn't have the best track record with men and has been dithering between brothers Ross and Pete Barton.
Eric Pollard - Chris Chittell
He was previously a major villain on the soap since arriving in 1986 but he has mellowed with age.
Eric is now the more fragile with ill health and is the long-suffering husband of Val and her hair-brained schemes.

Finn Barton - Joe Gill
He was born in 1992 and is the brother of Ross and Pete.
Finn is a smart one having completed an economics degree at university but it working as a cleaner to raise money to fund a teaching career in Japan.
Diane Sugden - Elizabeth Estensen
The soap matriarch has been on the show since 1999.
She was married to the late Jack Sudgen and had to battle colon cancer
Ross Barton - Michael Parr
A villainous character, he made his mark in 2013.
Not only did he attack Laurel Dingle but he threatened to ruin Debbie Dingle's wedding after she spurned him in favour of his brother Pete.
