Fresh faces set to cause a stir at Downton Abbey
AS well as everybody's beloved characters returning, there is a few new additions to Downton Abbey. Look who will be causing drama this series...
NEW UPSTAIRS...
VISCOUNT GILLINGHAM
The handsome aristocrat (Tom Cullen) is a childhood pal of Lady Mary's, although he is engaged to the Honourable Mary Lane Fox. He and Lady Mary have a lot in common, so could there be a mutual attraction?
CHARLES BLAKE
Who'd have thought it, a sexy civil servant in Downton? Charles (Julian Ovenden) is investigating the future of large country estates, and Lady Mary thinks he's on their side and will secure their future, but he takes the opposite view. Will opposites attract?
AND NEW DOWNSTAIRS...
MR GREEN
Valet to Viscount Gillingham and played by Nigel Harman who has said his character has "no redeeming qualities", so it seems that naughty under-butler Thomas could have a rival.
EDNA BRAITHWAITE
Played by MyAnna Buring, scheming Edna isn't quite new as she previously had a flingette with Tom Branson last Christmas. But she returns full-time as Lady Cora's new maid after O'Brien's departure. Expect her to be as awful as her predecessor.
AND IN BETWEEN!
JACK ROSS
Jazz crooner Jack is Downton's first black character. Played by Death In Paradise star Gary Carr the American jazz singer is a sign of how society changed in the Twenties. Will there be a flirtation between him and the young Lady Rose, now living with the family at Downton?
