Dame Joan Collins stars in new murder mystery set on a lavish country estate
Fans of Agatha Christie and Murder She Wrote are in for a treat with a new murder mystery.
Starring Dynasty icon Dame Joan Collins, the film follows a group of friends thrust into a murder mystery when a body is discovered in a hot tub during a lavish getaway at true crime TV sensation Francesca Carlyle's countryside retreat.
Every guest becomes a suspect, and as the atmosphere grows increasingly fraught, the friends turn to their celebrity sleuth hostess (portrayed by Joan) in a desperate bid to unmask the killer before they strike again, reports the Mirror.
The film was unveiled this year and has already proved a resounding hit with audiences, who praised it as "cosy" viewing packed with "plenty of twists". Joan herself declared it would be ideal for admirers of Agatha Christie and Murder She Wrote.
A critic writing on Film Threat said: "A Murder Between Friends makes for a fun night of low-stakes sleuthing, and it's great to have Joan Collins back. It is a simple mystery playing on our greed and our appetite for spicy relationships at the same time."
One viewer commented on Imdb.com that the film was a "campy Agatha Christie-esque satire", while another remarked that television legend Joan "adds star power".
"What amazes me is that after so many years Joan still keeps the same voice quality with those beautiful British sounds!" one fan wrote on Facebook.

Joan has already hinted that a follow-up could be on the cards, sharing on Instagram last year: "The producer is thinking of making a sequel to Murder Between Friends.
"I played Francesca Carlyle who is a TV star and also a private detective. (like shades of Agatha Christie and Murder She Wrote)."
The cast of the film also features Emmerdale's Simon Cotton, Toby-Alexander Smith from EastEnders and Jacob Young, whose television credits include The Bold and The Beautiful and All My Children.
A Murder Between Friends is expected to be on UK digital platforms in June.
