Emmerdale fans spot John Sugden's next murder victim after chilling clue
Emmerdale's John Sugden is terrified his victim's body will be found floating in the lake and fans now think they've identified his next target.
Could Emmerdale's secret villain, John Sugden, transition to serial killer, after slaughtering Nate and dumping his body in the water? In tonight's episode (May 26), viewers were on tenterhooks as it was implied that his comatose ex-boyfriend Aiden looked terrified when he saw John in the hospital for a very good reason.
Fans suspect that John could have been the one who left him with brain damage and scarcely able to speak - and then he was seen simmering with silent fury at Aiden's mum Cathleen (Julia Watson) after she tried desperately to coax him to the hospital. He was all set to walk down the aisle with prospective husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) - and Cathleen (as well as Aiden, if he finds his voice again) could be the only ones capable of standing in the way of that. Could he end up savagely slaughtering Cathleen to get him off her back? Viewers certainly seem to think so.
Taking to X after furious arguments broke out in the village, one wrote: "John is gonna kill Cathleen or do something to her #emmerdale."
"She won't last much longer... she'll be going swimming with Nate and his concrete wellies...#emmerdale," cautioned a second.
Cathleen had been distraught to learn that John had moved on from her coma-stricken son after he'd been languishing for three years in the hospital - but fans made it clear they felt his actions were inevitable.
"#Emmerdale feel for ya Cat but it's been 3 yrs & ya can't expect someone to stand still, even a total nutbar like John the killer Sugden. So Kathleen do yourself a favour & gtf away from him before you end up [dead]," someone exclaimed.

One brutal fan had very little sympathy, branding Cathleen ridiculous and exclaiming: "She expects John to miss his own wedding to accompany her to the hospital. She deserves to be bumped off #Emmerdale."
Another quizzed: "Why is Kathleen so desperate for John to be with her son. I bet shes next on his list!"
Meanwhile, prior to the wedding, John had made what appeared to be a panicked last-minute visit to the lake, with fans wondering if he'd been spooked by the threat of discovery and found another hiding place for Nate's body.
One viewer, convinced that another murder was coming, cautioned: "John’s trying to work out where to put [Cathleen] now that the lake is going to be dredged eventually!"
