Bargain Hunt: Guests make huge profit
Bargain Hunt couple were left speechless during the leastets episode of the BBC show after a £14 item made an unexpected profit.
In a repeat episode shown on Saturday (October 19), presenter Christina Trevanion was back on our TV screens as she headed to Nottinghamshire and two teams were introduced to viewers watching at home.
But it was the Blue team who managed to walk away with a profit. Couple Louise, who is a nursery practitioner and Risk manager Jonathan dived straight in with the help from experts Roo Irvine to find three items they could make a profit from at auction.
For one of their items, the pair were tasked with finding something that is associated with entertainment.
While on their search at the antiques and collectors fair, the duo splashed out £90 on mourning brooches, for their entertainment item they picked up antique opera glasses for £25 and finally they bought a set of six teaspoons for £14.

Christina went on to say: “Jonathan and Louisa, I love your taste and I don’t think there is anything there that I don’t like.” When asked what their favourite item was, Louisa revealed: “My favourite was the silver spoons.”
Christina was shocked at the price as she asked: “Why did you manage to get them for £14?” Louisa added: “I think we’ve done quite well.”
When it was time to put their items up for auction, things were off to a good start as their first item, which they bought for £90 sold for £110. However their second object made a loss of 5.
But things soon picked up as their £14 spoons made an unexpected profit. Starting off the bids at £15, the offers quickly rolled fast with the couple blown away.

The item was then sold for £45 and the couple were more than pleased with their win as they clapped and smiled at each other.
It gave them a total of £46 profit, before their expert's bonus buy went under the hammer. Roo bought a stamped sterling pin that she bought for £19.
When asked how much she thinks the item will sell for, Roo estimated £35/£40 and just like she predicted the item was sold for 35, bringing their overall total to £62.
