Channel 5's Jeremy Vine star halts show as she announces pregnancy live on air

Jeremy Vine Show star Storm Huntley, who is married to singer Kerr Okan, received a huge round of applause in the studio as she publicly broke the news that baby number two is on the way.

Viewers were stunned when she halted the live Channel 5 show to reveal not just her bump but also a picture of her scan. The radiant TV host confessed she'd been struggling to keep the secret as those who know her had begun to suspect when she was just eight weeks along.

"It's happened again!" Storm revealed, as she shared her excitement with viewers. "That is little baby number two on its way - and second babies don't mess about. I mean, they pop real quick.

"I have been showing like nobody's business to the point where eight weeks pregnant, my neighbour stopped me and said, 'Is Otis [Storm's first child] getting a little brother and a little sister?'” It's been two years since baby Otis - the son she shares with rock group The LaFontaines frontman Kerr Okan - was welcomed into the world - and she can't wait to give him a sibling.

However, only her insatiably curious husband knows whether the new arrival will be a boy or a girl. "Kerr knows if it's a brother or sister because we had a blood test and he's going to do a little gender reveal for him and I."

She added that with her previous pregnancy, she'd been the one to find out and break the news to her husband - but now the roles have been reversed.

There are other changes in comparison to last time too - the sickness she's experienced has reduced, while she's also feeling "more emotional".

"I am actually quite proud that I've been trying to hide this for the last however long. I think it's significant," she stated.

"Actually, I've had to come out and be honest with everyone because I can't get dresses to fit me anymore…. You're not supposed to be showing at all at 14 weeks, I don't think!" she quipped.

Revealing her toddler son's reaction to the pregnancy, she joked: "I'm not sure he even knows what's going on. He's quite excited about the fact he's got a few new tops that say Big Brother.

"He keeps saying that it's a different gender in Mummy's tummy and knows that there's a baby in Mummy's tummy. … I say [to Otis] 'Is [the baby] a little boy or a little girl? Every day he’ll tell me something different, so I've got a feeling he doesn't know!”

Storm, who has been part of the Jeremy Vine show for the past six years, has revealed that the first pregnancy test she took was "inconclusive" and showed only "a very faint line".

"I just left it in the bathroom and Kerr went in to brush his teeth at night and looked at it and came out and went, ‘Are we having another baby?’. It's like, 'I don't know', so that's kind of how I told him," she exclaimed.

The Jeremy Vine Show airs Monday-Friday 9.15am-11.30am on Channel 5, while Storm Huntley follows on from 11.30am-12.45pm.
