A popular Michelle Keegan drama is on BBC iPlayer as she gears up to return for a second season.

Our Girl star Michelle Keegan took on a completely different part in the shape of nurse Kate Thorne in BBC’s Ten Pound Poms which debuted in May 2023.

Set in the late 1950s, the show sees Brits leaving post-war Britain to start a new life on the other side of the world in Australia.

The first series saw Kate and the Roberts family make the big move with them all trying to adjust to their new lives.

Now, it’s been confirmed a second season of Ten Pound Poms is on the way with filming starting Down Under back in February.

An official start date hasn’t been announced just yet but the show is expected to return sometime in late 2024 or early 2025.

In the meantime, fans of the former Coronation Street actress can catch up on the first series of Ten Pound Poms on BBC iPlayer.

The upcoming second season will see the Brits more determined than ever to try and make this new country everything they hoped it would be after a challenging first year.

But as put forward by the BBC, will they really “get a slice of the Australian dream they were promised?”

Alongside Keegan, the cast will star Game Of Thrones and Black Mirror actress Faye Marsay and The Responder and Luther actor Warren Brown as Annie and Terry Roberts, respectively.

The show was written and created by BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst who previously worked on Fool Me Once, Ordinary Lies and Brassic, just to name a few.

He said: “The positive viewer response to Ten Pound Poms was a true delight.

“We tapped into a little-known part of our recent history and told stories which reflected the realities of the real Poms that made the trip.

“I couldn't be more thrilled to be teaming again with the BBC, Stan and Eleven to continue our characters' adventure down under.”

Ten Pound Poms is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
