Mason found guilty on Coronation Street

Coronation Street viewers were left shocked to see bully Mason Radcliffe (played by Luca Toolan) was back on the scene during Friday's episode.

The bully was seen sleeping rough in the ginnel as Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) spotted him when walking by. Fans of the ITV soap know Mason was sent to prison in April after months of tormenting Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).

Pulling a knife on the schoolboy, Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) testified against Mason and the teen was given a stint in prison. However, it seems as though his time behind bars has been cut short as the residents learnt Mason was back on the cobbles.

In scenes that unfolded on Friday, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) walked son Liam to the bus ahead of his last day before summer as he ran into his friend Dylan.

Speaking about the villain's return, Dylan confessed it wasn’t the best news that he’s heard as he was part of the reason Mason was sentenced in the first place.

Trying to make him feel better about the situation, Liam said: “I do know that part of the conditions of him getting out is that he can’t come anywhere near me or you.”

However, Dylan highlighted he doesn’t think that’s going to stop Mason from wanting to get his revenge.

Hopeful, Liam replied: “I get that you’re scared, I am and all but as long as we stick together...” Although his friend cut him off, snapping that he wasn’t scared but didn’t want to speak about it.

One viewer fumed: “Mason's reign of terror resumes. #Corrie

Another fan added: “#corrie Masons out ooooh nooo”

Someone else highlighted: “Is Mason sleeping rough metres away from where Liam lives, surely that'd be against bail conditions or something.”

“They let Mason out after like four days [sic] #corrie no wonder so many murderers in this street get away with it,” said another viewer.

“Lemme guess Mason(eyebrow boy) and that kid he threatened(forgot his name too) are gonna get the same job at the Naan bread place aren't they? #Corrie,” suggested one fan. With one viewer simply raging: “Not Mason [sic]”

It seems as though Mason’s return has already spooked Dylan as later on in the episode, Stu went to visit Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) at The Rovers.

Admitting the teen didn’t show up for his trial shift, Sean revealed he’d been given some bad news while looking concerned.

Has Mason sought out getting revenge on Dylan already? Or has terror made the teen keep a low profile?

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
