ITV The 1% Club 'pulled off air' as latest episode of Lee Mack show unexpectedly replaced
The 1% Club has been a huge hit for ITV since it first launched in 2022, but the Lee Mack-fronted show has been taken off air this weekend.
The 1% Club: Lee Mack opens the show
Fans of the popular game show The 1% Club, hosted by comedian Lee Mack, will be left disappointed this weekend as the programme has been unexpectedly pulled from Saturday night's listings. Despite there being plenty of episodes left in the new series, the show is conspicuously absent.
The 1% Club, which sees members of the public attempting to join the elite club by solving a series of challenging brain teasers, has quickly become one of the biggest shows on British television. However, despite its consistently high ratings and recent return for a third series, ITV has decided to pull this weekend's episode.
According to Chronicle Live, this move comes as channel executives aim to avoid a ratings clash with the Eurovision Song Contest, which is airing on the BBC at the same time. Instead, viewers will be treated to the James Bond film Casino Royale.
Unlike Britain's Got Talent, which has been rescheduled to Sunday evening, there is no place on this weekend's schedule for The 1% Club. Instead, Deal or No Deal and thriller Red Eye will be aired on either side of BGT.
Fans were left baffled on Saturday after a post from The 1% Club's official X (Twitter) account seemed to confirm is would be airing in its usual time slot. The post read: "Thank you for watching folks! Don't forget to tune in next week for brain teasers!"
Some viewers spotted that the show was absent from their TV guides and took to the comments to find out more.
"Is the show even on next week?" one person queried, while another wrote: "Hey, wait a minute. You're not on, next week. Replaced by Casino Royale." (sic) A third agreed: "You're not on next week because Casino Royale is on next Saturday."
"You're not on next week!" another fan exclaimed, while a fifth added: "Not on next week???" (sic) One more commented: "Two weeks' time unless we've moved nights next week!" (sic)
Express.co.uk reached out to ITV for comment yesterday.
