Emmerdale viewers saw Charity Dingle continue to struggle with the fact that she stabbed Mackenzie Boyd after suffering from night terrors.
Emmerdale: Moira calls ambulance as Mackenzie stabbed by Charity
Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb) had a tough decision to make during Tuesday night's episode. In recent scenes, fans of the ITV soap saw Mack get stabbed by his wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) as she suffered from a nightmare.
Although she thought Mack had been someone else when she attacked him, viewers have seen her ridden with guilt after he was rushed to hospital. During Tuesday night’s episode, Charity locked herself away from the village and made it clear she didn’t want to see anyone.
However, once Mack learned how distressed Charity was, he couldn’t help but return home and try to reason with her. Sadly, it was clear she was spiralling out of control as she threatened to leave for good.
During their conversation, she told him to go back to the hospital as she questioned why he wasn’t scared of her, before confessing she was scared of herself. Mack replied: “It wasn’t your fault.”
As he highlighted Charity needed help by speaking to an expert or councillor, she scolded: “Counselling won’t fix this! Not quickly anyway. Until I’m fixed you can’t be here.”
While Charity told Mack there was a chance she could hurt him again or the children, she begged him to leave the house.
Mack tried to reiterate he wasn’t leaving her side during the time she needed him most, although she wasn’t having any of it.
Giving him an ultimatum, she replied: “You go, or I do.”
Admitting defeat, he left her alone in the house as viewers saw her turn to alcohol at the end of the episode.
