ITV Loose Women viewers 'switch off' as Brenda Edwards erupts into rant
Loose Women was back on Monday and Brenda Edwards made her feelings known during one heated debate.
Loose Women panel debate children and mobile phones
One Loose Women fan claimed to "switch off" Monday's ITV programme after Brenda Edwards launched into a rant. The panel discussed mobile phones and whether it is irresponsible for parents to give their children a phone at such a young age.
However, some viewers felt Brenda came across as "aggressive" when sharing her thoughts on the topic. "The world operates on a smartphone so to completely take them away from tech in there in their teen years isn't necessary..." Katie Piper began.
Brenda chipped in: "The dark world operates more on a mobile phone and that is what is causing a lot of young people and children to have mental anxiety for so many different reasons."
Charlene White later went on to say: "Let grown-ups be grown-ups, those have got power."
Brenda cut in again as she went on: "Yeah, let grown-ups be grown-ups but if you have even the tech giants that make these phones saying, 'I'm not going to give my child a phone because of all the damages and dangers', then why is it alright for me? If it is alright for you, it should be alright for me."

During a later part of the segment, Brenda shared: "When your child goes to school and you've got no brand trainers..."
"They can leave that at home," Denise Welch replied as Brenda raised her voice: "Do you pay the bill?
"Find your bill, oh you can't get a bill, because why? You're six."
The studio audience began to clap as Brenda added: "I am sorry but that says it all for me."

Katie tried to speak before Brenda interrupted: "Parents need to educate their children."
Following the debate, fans rushed to X to share their thoughts and one even claimed to "switch off".
One fan complained: "Brenda is SO out of touch raising kids now is completely different to when you raised your now adult children… stop pretending it’s the same #LooseWomen." (sic)
Another asked: "Why is Brenda being so aggressive, let other people speak #loosewomen."
"This old repeat topic again about the mobile phones, I swear they talk about this every other week ffs bore off!!!" a third viewer added.
A fourth went on: "#Loosewomen Children shouldn't have anything more than a basic phone without internet access. I find it very concerning when influential adults disagree, knowing what type of material they are freely able to access online. #LooseWomen." (sic)
A fifth fumed; "If you don’t give your young kids a mobile phone, how will they go on TikTok and who tf will entertain them? #loosewomen."
"Dearie me!! I thought I’d tune into this today as I haven’t seen it in a while. Does the panel have to be screaming over one another??? Just switched off," a sixth stated.
However, not everyone shared the same opinion and some viewers agreed with Brenda. One wrote: "I am so glad I didn't have a smartphone as a kid/teenager, I first used the internet in the library and I ended up in chat rooms unmonitored, luckily only for 2 hours a WEEK, imagine having a smartphone 24/7 with not much monitoring, it's scary #loosewomen." Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
