During last week's episode, Trixie found herself overwhelmed with stress after making a serious mistake.
In the tense scenes, she nearly ended her career in midwifery.
Out on call with Mrs Stanton, pupil midwife Rosalind Clifford (Natalie Quarry) unexpectedly turned up with a message for her.
She added: “You need to call him right away". However, she did not relay any further details.
Trixie was deeply concerned that something terrible had happened to Matthew's son Jonty, so she excused herself immediately. However, her patient was in labour.
He said: "I had the most tiresome meeting about investment and things not going to plan. The business, it's so stressful. I have the most dreadful headache, and Jonty won't stop crying for you."
Raging at him as she thought it was an emergency, she said: "I thought this was an emergency. I imagined all sorts of horrors. I can't believe you called me out for this when I'm on duty."
