On Sunday night, ITV fans watched Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby introduce the 16th series of Dancing on Ice.
Dancing on Ice: Stephen Mulhern reacts to Ricky Hatton 'punch'
Dancing on Ice viewers are all saying the same thing as the new series kicked off on Sunday night. The first episode saw six celebrities take to the ice for the first time as Holly Willoughby returned to host the show.
Although fans are used to seeing Phillip Schofield alongside the 42-year-old, the former presenter stood down from his role with Stephen Mulhern taking over. Watching him alongside Holly, people were thrilled with the new on-screen partnership.
@swanseasucks said: “Stephen Mulhern is smashing this, how can anyone not love him, he's funny AF #DancingOnIce," as @WhoPotterVian added: “You wouldn't have got Philip Schofield doing that funny opening to Ricky Hatton's routine. Another reason why Stephen Mulhern is such a vast improvement as co-host.
@castle_linda tweeted: “#DancingOnIce so lovely to see Holly back on the box. Your beautiful face has been missed. Welcome back. What a great job from Stephen Mulhern. Such a brilliant replacement," while @RyanTheSoapking shared: “Stephen is coming across so well on #DancingOnIce. He is brilliant. Such a natural presenter.”
@ansell_alison commented: “Great to see Holly back and the gift that keeps on giving the fantastic Stephen Mulheron. He's brought more life back into the presenting of this show than ever before.”
@TVChatty added: “Stephen & Holly have always been a great pair together. I remember them on Saturday morning kids' TV.”
The new host was announced as Phillip Schofield’s replacement last year, following the former This Morning host cutting ties with ITV.
Touching on Stephen joining the new series, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV Katie Rawcliffe said: "Holly and Stephen are two of our best-loved presenters.
“So reuniting them twenty years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing on Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.
"Celebrating 20 years since they first worked together on Ministry of Mayhem, Willoughby and Mulhern will preside over the action on the high-octane skating show as this year's celebrities compete to become champion of the ice."
