Olympic ice-skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will be making a special appearance in Emmerdale for a Christmas episode, it has been revealed.
Filming with the athletes took place in Leeds on Monday morning for scenes where they help a well-loved Emmerdale character with a festive marriage proposal.
Will the mystery villager's proposal be accepted or rejected this Christmas?
Reflecting on the experience of featuring on Emmerdale, Christopher said: “It is amazing being here. We have jumped from watching Emmerdale on TV to being in a scene. From the screen to the scene. I’m loving it.”
Jayne added: “I can’t wait to watch the episode that we are going to be in. It will be surreal sitting at home watching it.”
Meanwhile, producer Laura Shaw shared: “We are delighted to welcome Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as our very special guests to Emmerdale.
"Torvill and Dean certainly promise to bring the Christmas magic sparkle to the show."
While they have not appeared on Emmerdale before, Jayne and Christopher have visited the Coronation Street set in recent years.

Their Emmerdale appearance comes months ahead of Dancing On Ice returning to ITV screens in January.
The pair, who have been figure skating for decades, have been part of Dancing On Ice since 2006 where they have acted as coaches and performers.
For the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice, Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi is one of the contestants.
Speaking on Steph's Packed Lunch last month, Roxy, who plays Leyla Harding, shared: "I haven't really said anything to anyone, but mainly because I am so nervous about it."
She admitted she "can't ice skate" so the actress will have a lot to learn in training sessions.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
