Carol Kirkwood hits back at Naga Munchetty over awkward BBC Breakfast question
Naga Munchetty and BBC Breakfast co-star Roger Johnson were discussing work from home policies as Zoom has asked employees to return to the office.
Carol Kirkwood asked if she prefers working remotely or in the studio
Before Naga Munchetty and Roger Johnson discussed whether employers should be more flexible with their work from home policies, they asked what Carol Kirkwood preferred.
The BBC Breakfast weather presenter is often out and about on location to read the forecast but often joins her colleagues in the studio.
On Thursday, she was presenting from the London studio while Naga and Roger were at Media City in Salford.
As Carol wrapped up the forecast, Naga asked: "Carol, question for you. Do you prefer working face-to-face with your colleagues or do you like not being with us in the studio today?"
Laughing, the meteorologist replied: "That's a loaded question if ever I heard one Naga. I like both."
Naga joked: "There we go, firmly sat on that fence. See you later Carol.
"I bet it's not comfortable sitting on that fence all the time."
The awkward moment came after Naga had joked several times about always having to pick up the bill when she went for coffee with her colleague.
Discussing a limited edition 50p coin which will be in circulation to commemorate the King's Coronation, Roger commented: "Perhaps the King doesn't carry cash like his mum.
"And like Carol, who revealed that like Her Majesty the Queen, you never carry cash."

"No never, I used to like you Roger but now since the pandemic I just don't, it's easier with a card," Carol explained.
But Naga teased: "Do you know why she really doesn't carry cash?"
"Go on, is it because she doesn't have to buy you a coffee?" Roger asked.
The Breakfast host nodded: "Yeah, 'Oh I haven't got my purse, I've got no cash.' Yeah, alright."
"Naga you are terrible," Carol hit back. "Especially as yesterday I did buy you a coffee. But, I did buy it with a card."
