The One Show: Rylan and Scott Mills give their Eurovision insight
Australia has only been able to compete in Eurovision since 2015, and ever since, fans have been able to tune into SBS, which has broadcast the singing competition since 1983.
This year's entry is a band called Voyager, which is made up of five members - Daniel "Danny" Estrin, Simone Dow, Scott Kay, Ashley Doodkorte and Alex Canion.
The band, who hope to make the final, will be taking to the stage to sing their song, Promise.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Ashley opened up about how important it is for them as a band to compete in Eurovision 2023.
He went on to share the sad meaning behind their song, Promise.
Ashley, who describes Voyager as a synth mental band, admitted he never imagined they would be performing at Eurovision.
He began: "Myself and Danny have always been Eurovision fans and we've been watching the contest for years.
"As a musician, you always sit there and think 'That'd be really fun to play'.
"Then you remember that you're a synth metal band from Perth, so it's nice to dream that maybe we get something like that someday."

After touring around the world, Ashley explained the idea of Eurovision came from their fans.
He continued: "People would come up to us after the show, going 'You'd be amazing for Eurovision' and you'd go 'Yeah, I reckon it would be kind of cool' and then in 2015, everything changed when they announced that Australia's joining for a few years and it's like 'Okay, we're going to do everything we can to get on that stage now'."
He added: "And we've been working pretty hard since then to make it happen. So it's a pretty good feeling to be here."
Turning his attention to their song, Promise, Ashley explained the meaning behind the track.
"The song is all about... sorta things can kind of get pretty heavy sometimes," the Eurovision star shared.
"There's a lot going on in your life, there's a lot going on in the world and it can get a bit chaotic and intense.
"So sometimes you know you need to escape from that and you need to find the people that make you happy.
"You need to find the things that make you happier and when you get there you're going to find out that everything's gonna be alright."
The Eurovision Song Contest semi-final airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
